NAMI Denver provides several educational opportunities for people who want or need to know more about mental illness.
Education is critical for the well-being of consumers and family members alike. It provides us with a greater understanding of mental illness, and insights on how to manage it. Education also provides us with resources to make healthy decisions given the situation each of us finds ourselves in.
OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
2012 Education Meetings: A series of 1.5-hour presentations/discussions on a specific topic pertaining to Mental Illness. All meetings are held at the Mental Health Center of Denver, 4141 E. Dickenson Place, Denver. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month and begin at 7 p.m. Upcoming Education Meetings are located on our Upcoming Events page for specific information each month. Family to Family Support Groups: The NAMI Family-to-Family Support Groups are held for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. They are held on the 2nd Wednesdays of every month. We begin promptly at 7PM and end promptly at 8:30PM. The group is held at MHCD off of Colorado & Dickensen (4141 East DickensonDenver, CO 80222). Registration is not required. Come as you are and enjoy time speaking with other's as well as a trained facilitator that can provide feedback and resources if you are in need
Family to Family Program: The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a free, 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free to class participants. Over 115,000 family members have graduated from this national program.
